robots are taking over the world!

Before I start, I just wanted to throw in a little disclaimer: While I enjoy hearing different conspiracy theories (especially the more absurd ones), I don’t personally consider myself a conspiracy theorist. So, you know, the title is purely satire. You can stop giving your vacuum the side eye. I promise.

While AI has been a thing for quite some time now, I feel like it has just expanded immensely in 2025. You see it everywhere: Social media, on your phones and computers, on Google searches, and everywhere else in-between. My company uses AI, we have received communication from other companies via AI, and there’s even an undisclosed company planning on developing a massive AI data center in my small town. Everywhere I turn, AI is lurking in the corner like a Furby in the closet.

With AI becoming so prominent in this day and age, it has become nearly a weekly topic amongst those around me. Will AI replace the jobs for those of us who work in customer service? Can AI be used ethically? Is there some sort of crash course on how to understand AI?

Unfortunately, I don’t have the answer to these questions, so I let AI answer them for us:

Question:
Will AI replace the jobs for those of us who work in customer service?

ChatGPT’s Response:
AI will replace some tasks in customer service, not the people. Routine stuff gets automated; humans stay for complex problems, emotions, and sales. The more “human” your skills are, the safer your job is.

Question:
Can AI be used ethically?

ChatGPT’s Response:
Yes – AI can be used ethically, but only when humans stay in control, it’s transparent, and it’s used to help people (not exploit or replace them blindly).

Question:
Is there some sort of crash course on how to understand AI?

ChatGPT’s Response:
Yes, there are crash courses. The best ones explain what AI is, what it isn’t, and how to use it safely and smartly – not how to code it.

Just another disclaimer: ChatGPT apparently likes to give very long and detailed responses, so like any good millennial blogger I asked for a more basic TL;DR answer. You’re welcome.

At the end of the day, whether we like it or not, there is no denying that AI will continue to have a role in the future of technology. So what do we do to keep up with it as it continues to advance quicker than we can, well, keep up with? It is my own personal opinion that there needs to be regulations and restrictions on the use of AI in certain means. How? Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer for that.

Speaking for myself, I don’t think I will ever be an expert on the ins and outs of AI. However, I will do my best to understand its different roles in my life so that I am not technologically left behind.

  1. This is a great take. The humor makes it approachable, but the questions underneath are very real. I like how you frame AI as something to understand and coexist with, not blindly fear or blindly trust. That balance — curiosity without panic, awareness without pretending to be an expert — is probably the healthiest stance most people can take right now.
